Is this event just focused on the West Midlands?
No, we have initiated this event from the West Midlands but we encourage churches around the country to participate.
Is this a one-off event?
No, we are hoping that this will become an annual feature in the church calendar.
How will it be sustained?
This event is backed by many of the major Christian denominations and a number of different Chaplaincy organisations. We hope, with their support, that this event would continue on an annual basis.
What do you hope to achieve from holding a Workplace Chaplaincy Sunday?
This event will raise the profile of Chaplaincy, encourage prayer support from churches, promote Chaplaincy to church members who would be open to considering becoming a chaplain, and interest existing employers in becoming potential locations for workplace chaplaincy. It should also provide an opening for each church to highlight the needs of members of their congregation that go to work.
Is this just for Christians and Churches?
No, we encourage members of other faiths to initiate a Workplace Chaplaincy day to fit in with their faith position.
Is there a multifaith aspect to this Workplace Chaplaincy Sunday?
All Chaplains aim to be inclusive and offer support to anyone regardless of their faith position. As a Christian charity, we seek the prayer support of Christians in general and churches specifically, hence why this is focused on churches setting aside this particular Sunday. Other faiths are welcome to organise their own Workplace Chaplaincy event in whatever way is appropriate to their faith background.
