Lindsay leads a small team (Team WWM) which supports our chaplaincy teams in providing central leadership, resources  and administration

Lindsay Melvin

Lead Officer

Lindsay studied Maths with Statistics at Bristol University. He went on to become a Chartered Accountant in Bristol. He married his wife Helen in 1982 and they have four children and four grandchildren. Helen is a paediatric consultant in West of England Hospital Trust.

They moved to London for a few years and became members of Holy Trinity Brompton where they were pastorate leaders and also Alpha Course leaders. When they moved to Solihull in 1994, Lindsay became West Midlands Alpha Course Coordinator in his spare time. He was the Group Finance Director for a small listed company, left as part of a management buy out and then moved to eventually being the CEO of the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals in Solihull. Lindsay is very passionate about financial education in the workplace, is very anti payday loans and believes in fair credit for all. His current roles are all in this area which he believes will improve the quality of people’s lives.

Lindsay has run the London Marathon 3 times, has cycled Le Jog and is a parkrun advocate. He also enjoys skiing. He is very excited about his new role as interim lead at WWM and has been praying for wisdom and guidance to serve God in this way. Lindsay and Helen attend Knowle Parish Church and are home group leaders. Lindsay is also on the pastorate care team.

Paul loves languages and he is fully fluent in French and has attempted to learn Arabic, but the latter is proving to be a lifetime commitment.

In 2013, after a successful career within the Forensic Science Service (FSS) which concluded with a six month project in Abu Dhabi, Paul decided to train to become an English teacher to adults. He spent two years working at a private institute in the heart of Oman.

Up until recently, Paul was teaching on a residential English programme in the Black Country to overseas students.

From 2018 to 2024, Paul worked in the Chaplaincy Office at the NEC in Birmingham and was linked to CIGB, so he is no stranger to the world of chaplaincy. He is very excited to be part of the new WorkCare West Midlands, to support Lindsay and his team in growing this invaluable work.

When Paul is not in the office, he is often to be found pottering in his garden, supporting his church's Messy Tots group or planning his next holiday.
